What’s the Typical Timeline on Hardwood Flooring Installation?

The decision to install hardwood flooring is a significant investment in the beauty and value of your home. But how long does the process typically take? Generally, the timeline can vary based on the size of the area, condition of the existing floor, and the type of hardwood you choose.

Preparation often takes a day, which may include removing old flooring and leveling the surface. Installation itself can range from 1 to 3 days for prefinished hardwood. Unfinished hardwood takes longer—up to a week—because the wood needs to be sanded, stained, and sealed on-site.

Be aware that weather can affect installation. Humidity and temperature need to be optimal to prevent warping or gaps. Therefore, it's always wise to consult professionals to assess your unique circumstances.
